H.Res. 259
H.Res. 259 is a resolution requesting that the President provide Congress with documents related to the access granted to staff and advisers of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—including Elon Musk and other named individuals—to the systems and accounts of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection. The House is demanding detailed information about who from DOGE was given access, what systems they accessed, whether they had proper security clearances to view sensitive information like confidential supervisory data or personal information, and whether any non-public information was shared externally or copied. The resolution also requests documentation of all steps taken to grant this access, required training and authorization forms, any conflicts of interest, and staffing levels at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as of December 31, 2024, and March 24, 2025, including how many employees are on administrative leave or stop-work orders. The President has 14 days from the resolution's adoption to provide these documents to the House.
