The legislation authorizes $50 million per year from 2026 through 2030 for the licensing assistance program and another $50 million annually for the assessment and remediation grants, with the federal government covering up to 60 percent of cleanup costs. The bill also allows temporary housing assistance of up to six months for people displaced by severe mold without insurance, and requires participating states and tribes to establish licensing programs as a condition of receiving funds.
