The Cybersecurity in Agriculture Act of 2025 directs the U.S. Department of Agriculture to establish five Regional Agriculture Cybersecurity Centers nationwide, coordinated through a national network, to protect the agriculture sector from cyberattacks. These centers, housed at land-grant universities with expertise in agriculture and cybersecurity, will conduct research on farming system vulnerabilities, develop specialized security tools and technologies, create training programs for farmers and agricultural workers, and build testing facilities to evaluate defenses against cyber threats. The legislation specifically focuses on protecting against cyberattacks from China, North Korea, Russia, Iran, and other countries designated by the Agriculture Secretary in consultation with the Department of Homeland Security. The bill authorizes $25 million per year in funding for fiscal years 2026 through 2030 to support these centers and their activities.
