This bill directs the Secretary of Transportation to simplify the paperwork burden on states when submitting their highway safety plans every three years. Specifically, it allows states to use the results from a triennial (three-year) management review already conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to satisfy documentation requirements for their highway safety plan submissions, rather than submitting duplicate information. The bill applies to state highway safety programs nationwide. The Transportation Secretary must make these changes within 180 days of the bill's enactment, and no new federal funding is allocated for this administrative change.
