This bill directs the Health Resources and Services Administration to create and maintain a real-time data dashboard tracking graduate medical education residency positions, applications, and placement patterns to help address physician shortages in rural and medically underserved areas. The dashboard would include information on residency applications, match rates, completion rates, where physicians practice after training, and trends in physician placement in underserved communities, while protecting individual privacy through data de-identification. The Secretary of Health and Human Services must collaborate with other federal agencies, including Medicare and the Veterans Affairs Department, to share relevant data and avoid duplicating existing systems. Beginning two years after enactment, the administration must submit annual reports to Congress on the dashboard's implementation and findings regarding the effectiveness of federal programs in addressing physician shortages. The bill authorizes $1.5 million in funding for fiscal year 2026 to establish and operate this system.
