The law includes a medical monitoring remedy that shifts the cost of ongoing health screenings from exposed individuals to responsible companies, and it encourages courts to lower the standard for scientific proof of harm and to order additional health research on PFAS when insufficient data exists. The bill does not preempt state laws, meaning individuals retain all existing state remedies in addition to this federal cause of action.
