This bill establishes a new federal task force to crack down on the illegal importation, distribution, and sale of e-cigarettes. The task force will be led jointly by the Attorney General and Secretary of Health and Human Services and will include representatives from eleven federal agencies, including the FDA, FBI, Customs and Border Protection, the ATF, and others, with the flexibility to add more agencies as needed. The task force must meet at least monthly to develop strategies for reducing unauthorized e-cigarettes in the market and coordinate enforcement efforts across agencies. It will submit detailed reports to Congress twice per year documenting each agency's enforcement actions, authorities, and recommendations for additional legal tools to combat the problem. The task force will operate for ten years before automatically terminating, unless Congress extends it.
