The resolution specifically acknowledges communities from Southeast Asia affected by decades-old contamination from the Vietnam War and calls on the U.S. government to continue funding demining activities, maintain international leadership on this issue, and prioritize clearing contaminated areas as an urgent humanitarian goal.
