H.Res. 365
H.Res. 365 is a symbolic resolution expressing the House of Representatives' view that Robert Aitken's Bible should be recognized as a historical document of Congress. The resolution notes that Aitken's Bible was the first English-language Bible printed in North America, and that in 1782, the Continental Congress officially approved and recommended Aitken's Bible edition to the American people as advancing both religion and the arts in the new nation. The resolution does not authorize any funding, create new programs, or impose requirements on any individuals or organizations—it simply states the House's sense that this historical achievement deserves official recognition. The resolution was submitted by Representatives Ogles, Cloud, Steube, and Moore of Alabama in April 2025 and was referred to the House Committee on Administration for consideration.
