The Reimagining Inclusive Arts Education Act directs the Department of Education to award competitive grants to schools, school districts, and partnerships to improve arts education for children with disabilities. Grant recipients will use funding to develop professional development programs for arts teachers and creative arts therapists (such as music, art, dance, and drama therapists) so they can better accommodate and include students with disabilities in their classrooms. The grants can fund curriculum improvements, training in best practices, and adapted classroom materials that make arts education accessible to all students. Eligible recipients include local and state education agencies, particularly those serving Title I schools in low-income areas, with priority given to geographically diverse communities including rural, suburban, urban, tribal, and socioeconomically varied areas. The bill authorizes $15 million in total funding for the program from fiscal years 2026 through 2030, with individual grants lasting up to three years and the possibility of one two-year renewal period for successful programs.
