The Autism Family Caregivers Act of 2025 creates a federally funded grant program to help family caregivers of young children with autism and other developmental disabilities learn evidence-based skills and strategies. The program, administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration, will award grants of at least $500,000 over five years to at least 25 organizations in at least 15 states to provide free training in areas like communication, social skills, daily living skills, and managing challenging behaviors. The training programs must be culturally and linguistically appropriate, involve local stakeholders including autistic individuals and caregivers with disabilities, and coordinate with schools, health insurance companies, and community organizations. The bill authorizes $10 million annually from 2026 through 2030, and requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services to evaluate program effectiveness and report to Congress by mid-2026 with an updated final report by the end of 2027.
