Referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committee on Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
The CONNECT for Health Act of 2025 expands Medicare telehealth services by removing geographic restrictions on where beneficiaries can receive care (effective October 1, 2025), expanding which healthcare practitioners can deliver telehealth services, and permanently extending coverage for rural health clinics and Federally Qualified Health Centers. The bill includes special provisions for Native American health facilities and eliminates the six-month in-person visit requirement for telemental health services while allowing waivers during public health emergencies. To maintain program integrity and quality, the bill increases funding for fraud oversight and billing pattern monitoring, requires the Secretary to develop provider training resources within six months and report on telehealth quality measures within two years, and mandates quarterly public reporting of Medicare telehealth data by patient type and geography. The Government Accountability Office is also directed to evaluate the impact of these changes on patient care and program oversight.
