The TICKET Act requires ticket sellers to show consumers the full price of event tickets upfront, including all mandatory fees. Starting 120 days after the law takes effect, both primary ticket issuers and secondary market resellers must clearly display the total ticket price in advertisements and throughout the purchasing process, and provide an itemized breakdown showing the base ticket price and each individual fee. The bill applies to events with over 200 attendees that are promoted across state lines, such as concerts, theatrical performances, and sporting events. The Federal Trade Commission will enforce the law and can penalize violators as if they were engaging in unfair or deceptive business practices. There is no specific funding authorization in the bill, as enforcement relies on existing FTC resources and authority.
