The Primary Care Team Education Centers Act establishes a federal grant program to create and expand primary care training centers where community health clinics serve as educational sites for the next generation of health professionals. Eligible organizations, primarily community-based ambulatory care centers and health organizations, can receive grants of up to $1 million per year for up to five years to develop partnerships with educational institutions, address shortages of clinical instructors and training sites, and support student clinical training in primary care settings. The bill prioritizes applications from organizations that address health profession workforce shortages in disadvantaged communities and provide training support for nurses and advanced practice nurses. The program authorizes $10 million for fiscal year 2027, increasing to $25 million in 2028 and $50 million in 2029, with ongoing funding available thereafter. Grant recipients are prohibited from receiving certain other federal teaching health center grants, ensuring funds support distinct educational programs.
