Within two years, the committee must submit recommendations to the Secretary of Labor and Congress on how to improve data collection, reduce reporting burdens on apprenticeship programs, track apprentice outcomes like job retention and wages, and incorporate apprenticeship data into state education and workforce systems. Following the committee's report, the Secretary of Labor has 30 days to issue a policy plan and request targeted funding from Congress to help states implement these recommendations. The committee will disband after submitting its report.
