This bill would require the President to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization and impose strict sanctions against it and its affiliated branches worldwide. The legislation directs the Secretary of State to submit annual reports to Congress identifying all Muslim Brotherhood branches globally and determining whether they meet criteria for terrorist designation under existing law. Within 90 days of enactment, the President must impose sanctions on the Muslim Brotherhood itself, and within 30 days of each subsequent State Department report, sanctions must be imposed on any affiliated branches meeting terrorist criteria. The bill also bars foreign individuals identified as Muslim Brotherhood members from obtaining U.S. visas, entering the country, or maintaining existing visas. The sanctions cannot be removed for at least four years once imposed, and the legislation applies to numerous countries where Muslim Brotherhood branches allegedly operate, including Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and others that have already designated the organization as terrorist.
