Submitted in the Senate, considered, and agreed to without amendment and with a preamble by Unanimous Consent. (consideration: CR S7159; text: CR S7158-7159)
This resolution congratulates the Summerlin South Little League baseball team from Nevada for winning the 2025 Little League World Series United States Championship on August 23, 2025. The team defeated Fairfield National Little League 8-2 in the championship game, marking the first time a Summerlin South team had ever advanced to the World Series tournament in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. This victory made Summerlin South only the second Nevada team to win the U.S. championship since the state began competing in 1957. The resolution formally recognizes the achievements of the players, coaches, parents, and league staff who contributed to the team's success, and directs that copies be sent to the league president and team manager. As a congressional resolution, this legislation requires no funding and simply serves as an official commendation from the U.S. Senate.
