The Local Gun Violence Reduction Act directs the federal government to create a searchable database where state and local governments can share information about gun violence prevention laws they've enacted and track their effectiveness. The legislation requires Congress to receive biennial reports summarizing database submissions, identifying successful laws, and noting geographic areas with high or low participation. The bill authorizes $1.5 million in funding for fiscal year 2026 and $1 million annually thereafter to build and operate the database.
