The Securing Partner Supply Chains Act directs the Secretary of State to establish the Initiative on Foreign Investment Screening within 180 days of enactment. This initiative will provide technical assistance and training to foreign countries to help them develop systems for screening foreign investments for national security risks, particularly those involving critical infrastructure, sensitive technology, and supply chains. The effort will coordinate across U.S. government agencies, the private sector, and partner nations to share best practices and strengthen defenses against malign foreign influence affecting allies' economies. The Secretary will submit annual reports to Congress for four years describing the assistance provided, progress made by partner countries, and emerging security risks related to foreign investment. The Initiative is authorized for a five-year period before terminating.
