Additionally, the bill streamlines the whistleblower award process by requiring the CFTC to make preliminary determinations on award claims within one year of the filing deadline or litigation resolution, with extensions possible only for complex cases, and mandates final orders be issued within another year. The bill also modifies the CFTC's customer protection fund to create a separate account for customer education and administrative expenses, capped at ten million dollars before other funds are diverted, and removes time restrictions on whistleblower program funding.
