The adviser must be trained on the institution's disciplinary procedures, can receive regular updates on the case with the student's permission, and may advocate for the student throughout the process, subject to applicable state laws and Title IX regulations. The bill also requires colleges to disclose statistics on reported campus suicides as part of their annual campus security reporting. Any college that receives federal funding under applicable federal education programs must adopt these policies to remain eligible for that funding.
