This bill directs the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum to create a curriculum about the October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks on Israel and related antisemitism for use in American secondary schools. The curriculum must cover the attacks themselves, the history of antisemitism and its role in the attacks, the spread of antisemitism and anti-Israel rhetoric in the United States and on college campuses following the attacks, social media's role in spreading this rhetoric, and how denial and distortion of events constitute a form of antisemitism. The Director of the Holocaust Memorial Museum has 180 days from the bill's enactment to develop the curriculum and must submit a report to Congress within 180 days of completion or no later than three years after enactment, whichever comes first. The bill does not specify funding amounts or mechanisms for implementing the curriculum in schools.
