This resolution commemorates the one-year anniversary of devastating wildfires that struck Southern California on January 7, 2025. The fires burned nearly 60,000 acres across Los Angeles County and surrounding areas, killing 31 people, destroying over 16,000 structures, and displacing more than 200,000 residents. The two largest fires, the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire, caused some of the costliest wildfire damage in U.S. history by devastating entire neighborhoods, homes, schools, and businesses.
