Additionally, the bill repeals provisions that allow the Trump administration to summarily remove unaccompanied children without proper legal proceedings and screening for trafficking concerns, as required by the 2008 Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act. The legislation affects unaccompanied migrant children and would restore protections these youth previously received under federal law.
