This bill directs the Secretary of Agriculture to establish a federal grant program providing funding to states, territories, and Indian tribes to address contamination of farmland and water by PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), which are highly persistent chemicals often found in agricultural soils following the application of sewage sludge or septage. Eligible governments can use grant funds for purposes including compensating farmers for contaminated land or products, helping farmers transition to alternative crops or remediation strategies, conducting PFAS testing and research, providing health monitoring for affected farmers and their families, and offering financial assistance and income replacement to impacted agricultural producers. At least 30 percent of annual funding must go to smaller states or territories with populations under 3 million, and eligible governments must prioritize direct financial assistance to producers experiencing losses. The bill authorizes $500 million in funding for fiscal years 2026 through 2029 and requires annual reporting to Congress on how states use the grants.
