The Department of Health and Human Services must analyze barriers to treatment (such as insurance coverage gaps and healthcare shortages) within two years and commission the National Academies to study disparities in endometriosis diagnosis and outcomes across racial, ethnic, geographic, and other demographic groups within 24 months. The legislation affects patients with endometriosis, healthcare providers, health insurance plans, and state Medicaid programs, which will be required to provide data to support these research and analysis efforts.
