The Bridge to Summer Nutrition Act of 2025 increases federal funding to help states manage two food assistance programs. Specifically, the bill directs the Secretary of Agriculture to cover 90 percent of states' monthly administrative costs for operating the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) program for children and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, commonly known as food stamps). This applies to any fiscal year in which a state runs the summer program. The legislation aims to reduce the financial burden on states for administering these nutrition assistance programs, making it easier for them to serve low-income families and children during the school year and summer months when children may not have access to school meals.
