This bill requires the Congressional Research Service to prepare detailed reports on individuals who were pardoned or had their sentences commuted through a January 2025 presidential proclamation related to the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot. Within 60 days of the bill's passage and then every 180 days thereafter, the reports must be submitted to Congress and made publicly available, tracking whether any of these pardoned individuals have been arrested, charged, or convicted of new crimes, as well as any encounters involving law enforcement use of force. The bill aims to monitor the subsequent criminal activity of those who received clemency related to the Capitol riot, allowing Congress and the public to assess whether these individuals have engaged in additional illegal conduct. The reporting requirement continues indefinitely unless Congress takes further action to modify it.
