Summary

Highlight any text to annotate
This bill requires the President and Vice President to disclose their financial interests and divest from any holdings that pose potential conflicts of interest within 30 days of taking office. The disclosure must include detailed descriptions of all financial holdings of the President, Vice President, and their spouses and dependent children, as well as the previous three years of tax returns. Conflicting financial interests must be transferred to a qualified blind trust, which will then sell the assets or return proceeds to the official. The Office of Government Ethics will conduct annual reviews and submit reports to Congress, while the Attorney General or state attorneys general can seek court orders to enforce compliance if violations occur. The bill applies immediately to any sitting President or Vice President, with implementation rules to be issued within 180 days of the law's enactment.
