When regulations are flagged as redundant or outdated, the responsible federal agency has 30 days to review and confirm the determination, and then another 30 days to either remove the regulation or update it to fix the problem. The bill speeds up this process by exempting these regulations from the normal public notice-and-comment procedures typically required for federal rulemaking, though agencies must publish their decisions publicly with written explanations. The bill affects all federal agencies that issue regulations and aims to reduce regulatory clutter, though no specific funding amounts are provided in the legislation.
