The Human Trafficking Awareness Training Recognition Act of 2026 directs the Department of Homeland Security to create a certification program that recognizes private employers for training their employees to identify and respond to human trafficking. Employers in industries with high trafficking risk can apply annually between January 31 and April 30, submit information about their training programs, and receive a one-year certificate of completion if approved. The department can charge employers reasonable application fees to cover program administration costs and must publish the names of certified employers in the Federal Register each year. The bill prohibits employers from falsely claiming they received certification if they did not. Beginning two years after enactment, the Homeland Security Secretary must submit annual reports to Congress detailing the number of applicants, fees collected, certifications awarded, and program costs.
