Referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.

The bill requires the VA to deliver telemental health services or mobile mental health care at no cost to incarcerated veterans, staffed exclusively by VA providers rather than outside contractors. The legislation also directs the Bureau of Prisons to create dedicated housing units for veterans in federal facilities that foster discipline and peer support, and requires the federal government to automatically resume VA compensation payments to veterans after their release from prison. Additionally, the law mandates that federal crime statistics now include comprehensive data on incarcerated veterans, with annual reports to Congress on this population beginning 180 days after the bill's enactment.
