This bill establishes a 14-member Philadelphia Campaign Two Hundred and Fiftieth Commemoration Commission to plan federal activities recognizing the 250th anniversary of the 1777-1778 Philadelphia Campaign, a pivotal series of Revolutionary War events that helped convince France to ally with America. The Commission will include the Librarian of Congress, the Chief Operating Officer of the Museum of the American Revolution, and twelve qualified citizens appointed by congressional and presidential leadership, with the President serving as an honorary nonvoting member and potentially inviting the leaders of France and the United Kingdom to do the same. The Commission must submit interim reports six months and one year after the bill's enactment, with a final report due by September 30, 2028, recommending federal activities such as acquiring historical artifacts, creating digital educational resources, sponsoring public exhibitions and conferences, and coordinating with state and local commemorative efforts. The bill authorizes $2.5 million in funding for fiscal year 2027 and another $2.5 million for fiscal year 2028, with the Commission terminating 120 days after submitting its final report. Commission members will serve without pay but will receive travel expenses, and the Commission will seek office space and administrative support from the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia.
