The Elder Pride Act of 2026 establishes a new grant program under the Older Americans Act to support LGBTQI older adults and other protected populations living in rural areas. The bill authorizes the federal government to award grants to states, tribal organizations, nonprofits, and area agencies on aging to provide services such as community outreach, education and training, cultural competency development, and sexual health services in rural communities. Grant recipients must use funds to reduce isolation, build relationships between older LGBTQI individuals and service providers, expand nondiscrimination policies, and improve access to care. The legislation authorizes $5 million in funding for fiscal years 2027 and 2028, and requires the Assistant Secretary to submit annual reports to Congress documenting the activities and outcomes of funded grants.
