This bill requires the U.S. Postal Service to implement recommendations from its Inspector General aimed at improving how it identifies and notifies customers about mail delivery problems on certain routes. Specifically, the Postal Service must act on recommendations contained in a December 2022 Inspector General report about undelivered and partially delivered mail routes. The bill gives the Postal Service one year from when the law is enacted to implement these recommendations to the extent that it is practical to do so. The legislation does not authorize any new funding or create additional programs, but rather directs the Postal Service to follow through on existing oversight recommendations to address mail delivery failures.
