The system must be searchable by alien registration number, name, or date and country of birth, available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and other commonly spoken languages, and updated within 8 hours of detention or transfer. The bill affects detained immigrants and their families by providing access to basic information about where detainees are held and how to contact facilities, while also requiring notification to family members within 5 hours when detainees are transferred for medical care.
