The disclosure statements must be made public within two days of filing and updated every 30 days while the absence continues. Members are not required to disclose medical details or diagnoses but may voluntarily provide additional information beyond what is required. Violations of the disclosure requirement are handled by the House Ethics Committee or Senate Select Committee on Ethics, and the bill becomes effective immediately upon passage.
