If you live in Oregon's 6th U.S. House District, Rep. Andrea Salinas (D-OR) has been declared the winner of the 2026 congressional race and will continue to represent you in Congress, according to the Associated Press. The AP called the race just before 11 p.m. Pacific Time on Nov. 3, though the general election stage does not yet carry certified vote totals, so final vote shares and a margin are not available.
The Race
Salinas is the Democratic incumbent, having held the seat since at least the 2024 race. Her Republican opponent, David Russ), reached the general election ballot by winning the Republican primary on May 19, 2026. The general election stage lists no vote counts or shares for either candidate as of time of publication, so certified individual results from that stage are not yet available. In the May primaries, Salinas drew about 55,300 votes running unopposed, and Russ drew about 38,810 votes in his Republican primary.
The district has about 713,800 residents. Its median household income is about $87,600, its median age is 38.5, and 35.1% of adults hold a bachelor's degree or higher. About 21.9% of residents are Hispanic and 70.3% are white. Both Cook Political Report and Inside Elections rated the seat Solid Democratic heading into Election Day.
What's Next
