The Winner
Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D) won Pennsylvania's 6th U.S. House District race on Nov. 3, according to The Associated Press. The seat stays in Democratic hands.
Houlahan is the Democratic incumbent, running for reelection to the seat she has held since at least the 2024 race. Marty Young, the Republican opponent who advanced through the May 19 primary, was the other major-party candidate on the general election ballot. The general election count is still underway, and the stage has no vote totals yet.
The Race
Cook Political Report rated the seat "Solid D," and Inside Elections also rated it "Solid D."
The district has about 779,600 residents, a median household income of about $106,900, a median age of about 39.8 years, and roughly 48.7 percent of adults hold a bachelor's degree or higher.
What's Next
Houlahan is set to take office on Jan. 3, 2027. Houlahan has called for congressional oversight of the Military Health System, saying that transparency and accountability are needed to strengthen it, with that oversight informing legislative decisions on the upcoming defense authorization bill, according to a press release from the Office of Rep. Chrissy Houlahan dated April 23.
