Who's In the Race

California's 2nd Congressional District is featuring Democratic incumbent Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA) and Republican challenger Robin Littau in the Nov. 3 general election.

Huffman has represented the district since 2013 and serves as Ranking Member of the House Natural Resources Committee in the 119th Congress. Before Congress, he served six years in the California Assembly and worked as a senior attorney at the Natural Resources Defense Council.

Littau is an elected member of the Enterprise Elementary School District board, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran who served as a diesel mechanic from 1997 to 2001, and the owner of Rockin Robin's Cleaning Service and Joyful Living Magazine.

In California's June 2, 2026, top-two primary, Huffman took about 57% of the vote, with Littau advancing as runner-up at about 11%.

What They Stand For

Huffman supports a single-payer Medicare-for-All system. He has also supported investment in clean energy, infrastructure, and jobs to address climate change, drought resilience and water infrastructure that stretches supplies without weakening environmental protections; and habitat improvements for deer, elk, and antelope to increase prey availability for wolves. Per his official House website, Huffman has also worked with indigenous tribes in the area to "address the various issues affecting their communities from missing and murdered indigenous people to critical infrastructure," and supports protecting Social Security to "ensure that every American can count on the benefits they have earned."

Littau has proposed reducing regulation and taxation and prioritizing "responsible spending," according to her campaign website. She's also supported immigration reform to "end the chaos" and modernize citizenship requirements, parental-rights legislation, including a "Parental Bill of Rights" and "My Kid, My Call"; and compensation and deterrent resources for ranchers affected by wolves.

The Money Behind the Race

Through June 30, Huffman had raised about $978,000 and held about $1.1 million in cash on hand, more than his total receipts, while Littau reported no receipts and no cash on hand.
