The Winner
Jared Moskowitz, a Democrat from Coral Springs, Florida, will represent you in Congress after winning Florida's 25th U.S. House District race on Nov. 3. Moskowitz took roughly 63.5% of the vote, according to current certified results from the Florida Department of State, Division of Elections. The seat had been held by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), who did not run for re-election in 2026, making this an open-seat contest.
The Race
With Wasserman Schultz stepping aside, the seat was open on Election Day. The Republican nominee, Scott Singer, who won the Republican primary on Aug. 18, faced Moskowitz in the general election. The general election ballot also included four other candidates.
Before the election, Cook Political Report rated the race "Lean Democratic," Inside Elections rated it "Tilt Democratic," and Sabato's Crystal Ball rated it "Lean Democratic."
What's Next
Moskowitz is set to take office on Jan. 3, 2027, under the 20th Amendment. He has said lowering the cost of living would be a priority, telling WPBF 25 News that Democrats would work to bring costs down if they took the House, according to a report updated Oct. 26.
