Who's In the Race
Republican August Pfluger and Democrat Claire Reynolds will face off in the general election for Texas's 11th U.S. House District. Pfluger is the incumbent and has held the seat since at least the 2024 cycle. Reynolds won the Democratic primary on March 3, taking 57.6 percent of the vote over Pedro Ruiz. Pfluger ran unopposed in the Republican primary. The general election will take place on Nov. 3.
What They Stand For
Pfluger's campaign site says he supports securing the southern border to protect citizens from drug cartels, human traffickers, and illegal immigrants, backs President Trump's plan to secure the border, and supports using Permian Basin energy production to advance American energy.
Reynolds's campaign platform focuses on health care, abortion rights, and immigration reform. She supports moving toward a single-payer health insurance system modeled on Medicare for All, making abortion in Texas safe, legal, and rare, and securing the border while reforming the broader immigration system. Reynolds describes the 11th District as deeply conservative and says she is running to challenge what she calls entrenched interests that gerrymandered the district.
