Who's In the Race

It's looking like Democrats are posed to take Massachusetts' 6th congressional district on Nov. 3, but no incumbents are in the race. The race pits Democrat Daniel Koh against Republican Micah Jones in an open seat. [](#ngr-5e1a703f-326d-43e3-bae9-946b2fe893fd)

Koh is a former White House official who served as a deputy assistant to President Joe Biden and previously as chief of staff to former Boston Mayor Marty Walsh. Jones is a U.S. Army veteran and attorney.

What They Stand For

Koh is running on a campaign promising more affordable housing for residents of the district, according to his campaign issues page. He also pledges to make health care and child care more affordable, protect free-speech rights and immigrant neighbors. He describes his campaign as taking the fight directly to President Trump and delivering results for the Sixth District.

Jones says his campaign is built on accountability for members of Congress, opportunity for Sixth District communities, and national security, per his campaign site. He describes his message as bipartisan and focused on reducing the temperature of national politics.

The Money Behind the Race

Outside groups have spent $2,260,631 in this race, all of it on the Democratic side and all of it in support of candidates.

Three committees account for the bulk of that spending. New Leadership PAC leads with $1,055,319. Meanwhile, Think Big has spent $705,312.7, and Pro-Choice Majority Action has put in $500,000.
