The Winner

Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) won Alabama's 4th U.S. House District race on Nov. 3, keeping the seat he has held for the district's residents. According to current certified results from the Alabama Secretary of State, Aderholt won the general election, though final vote totals for the general election have not yet been reported. The seat remained in Republican hands, as it was held by a Republican before the election.

The Race

Aderholt was the incumbent heading into this race, having held the seat as of the 2024 race. Amanda N. Pusczek, a Democrat, won her party's primary on May 19, taking roughly 62.8% of the vote against Shane Weaver.

Cook Political Report rated the race Solid Republican before the election, as did Sabato's Crystal Ball and Inside Elections. Republican primary turnout in the district reached about 92,914 voters, more than six times the roughly 15,351 who turned out in the Democratic primary.

What's Next

Aderholt is set to take office on Jan. 3, 2027. Before the election, Aderholt said he hoped to work to cut regulations and bureaucratic red tape that drive up costs for businesses and consumers, AL.com reported.
