Democrat Anna Golladay and Incumbent Republican Chuck Fleischmann advanced from Tennessee's Aug. 6 primaries and will face each other for the 3rd U.S. House District seat in November.
Golladay won the certified Democratic primary with 79.6 percent of the vote, or 27,725 votes. Bryan Martin finished second in that two-person primary with 20.4 percent, or 7,116 votes, out of 34,841 total votes. Fleischmann won the certified Republican primary uncontested.

Every pundit rating tracked for this race calls it Solid Republican. Cook rated it Solid Republican as of Sept. 25. Sabato rated it Solid Republican as of Sept. 22. Inside Elections rated it Solid Republican as of Sept. 17. The consensus rating was Solid Republican as of Sept. 28.
Bettors on Kalshi gave the Republican a 93.48 percent chance and the Democrat a 6.52 percent chance as of Sept. 29, in a market with $14,458 in volume.
Tennessee leans red in recent federal congressional results, with Republicans winning eight of nine House races in 2022 and seven of nine in 2024. Republican Marsha Blackburn won the one Senate race in 2024. Donald Trump won Tennessee in the 2024 presidential election as a Republican with 64.194 percent of the vote.
Fleischmann won this district in 2022 as a Republican with 68.378 percent of the vote and again in 2024 with 67.514 percent of the vote.
