The Winner
If you live in Texas's 16th U.S. House District, you will continue to be represented in Congress by Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX), who has been declared the winner of the congressional race, according to the Associated Press. The general election was held Nov. 3, and vote counts are still being tallied, but Escobar has been declared the winner, keeping the seat in Democratic hands.
Escobar's victory maintains Democratic representation in the El Paso-area district as Democrats prepare to take control of the House in January. Her reelection also ensures that the district will continue to be represented by an incumbent who has advocated for immigration reform and protections for long-term undocumented residents.

Republican Adam Bauman reached the general election ballot after winning the May 26 primary runoff, defeating Manuel Barraza by 37.2 percentage points, with 7,742 votes to Barraza's 3,547. Cook Political Report rated the seat Solid Democratic.
