The Race
Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH) is seeking re-election in Ohio's eighth congressional district after advancing unopposed in the Republican primary on May 5. He will face Vanessa Enoch (D-OH), who defeated Madaris Grant in the Democratic primary, along with two third-party candidates in the Nov. 3 general election. The district includes Butler County and portions of the northern and western Cincinnati suburbs.
Ratings
The nation's leading election forecasters agree that Ohio's eighth congressional district is unlikely to be competitive in November. The Cook Political Report and Inside Elections rate the race Solid Republican, while Sabato's Crystal Ball rates it Safe Republican. Although Sabato uses different terminology, all three organizations project Republicans will retain the seat.
Prediction Markets
Prediction markets also point to a Republican advantage. As of late June, Kalshi traders gave Republicans an 88.66% probability of winning Ohio's eighth congressional district, compared with 11.34% for Democrats. At the time, the market had recorded approximately 975 contracts traded.
Experts vs. Markets
Professional election forecasters and prediction markets point to the same likely outcome in Ohio's eighth congressional district. While traditional race ratings classify the district as Solid Republican or Safe Republican, Kalshi assigns Republicans an 88.66% probability of victory. Both forecasting methods indicate Davidson enters the general election as the clear favorite, though the prediction market assigns a slightly greater possibility of a Democratic upset than traditional race ratings imply.
