CGC operates as a nonprofit financial institution that invests directly and through partners to transform financial markets by using public and private investing to accelerate the deployment of projects that strengthen the GRID, reduce emissions and increase climate resiliency while creating economic opportunities for ALL americans across the united states. CGC provides loans, loan guarantees, credit enhancements and other forms of financial assistance and supports its network of partners that develop investment opportunities across the united states. Since its inception, CGC has supported the creation of state and local green bank's mission-driven community lenders that use innovative financing to accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy and educated the public and private sector and governmental authorities and organizations regarding the need for and benefits of low-cost financing of clean energy generation, transmission, and the efficient use of energy.
