About

As an educational and cultural nonprofit institution centered on the aircraft carrier intrepid, a national historic landmark, the mission of the intrepid museum foundation (intrepid museum) is to promote the awareness and understanding of history, science and service through its collections, exhibitions and programming, in order to honor our heroes, educate the public and inspire our youth. The museum's mission is realized in three ways: 1) through collections, exhibitions and interpretations of american and global history; 2) through innovative STEM, history, and leadership education programs for students; and 3) by the integral role the museum plays in the local and national community, hosting a wide range of public cultural events and programs for youth, families, senior citizens, families in transitional housing, veterans and the men and women in service to our nation.
