Local 509 was formed to organize and unite ALL workers, eligible for membership herein, for their mutual advancement, both socially and economically, eradicate discriminatory practices by employers and society at large, foster the value of public commitment for human services and education, and to promote and encourage the involvement of members in the political process, including elections and other forms of political activities.
